SWISS FENCING is very happy that Lugano will organize the season's first competition which is also the first qualifying tournament for our young fencers in preparation for more important appointments in the year.

Starting some years ago it has been the objective of Swiss Fencing to renew and strenghten the links with the Canton Ticino and contribute to the espansion of the fencing sport in that region, far from the rest of Switzerland, but important for our sport.

I'm particularly happy to note that this cooperation, which is now a reality, makes possible for LUGANO SCHERMA to organize, in its first year of existence, an important competition for our calender. 

I send therefore all my wishes to this tournament for its success and for the possibility to make it become in the future an important appointment in the qualifying circuit.
